Constable Ronni Grosenick said people need to be cautious with their pets.
“We did receive a report that one of the wolves went after a small dog,” he said.
“The person did frighten the wolf off and the wolf ran away.”
This is not the first year that wolves have prowled around Kenora, Grosenick said — but this time, one of the animals seems to be hanging around town more than usual.
“So we've been telling people if they see a wolf and it's acting in an aggressive manner … to stay away from it, and  to call the police,” she said.

Grosenick said police have responded to calls but each time the wolves have left the area by the time officers arrived.
