‘Walk for Wolves’ this weekend in IN

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, IND. (WLF) – Bring your wolf pack to Wolf Park on Saturday, Oct. 10 for the Walk for Wolves event. It’s the park’s largest fundraiser of the year, and for the first time ever, there will be also be a 4K and 8K cross country run for those looking for an extra challenge.
“Being a non-profit organization, we rely on people coming out [and sales through] admission, donations, support, things of that nature,” explained Wolf Park manager Dana Drenzek.
That’s why many of the funds raised during the event are used during the park’s off-season, from December to April when the park is closed to guests, because as Drenzek explained, “taking care of animals is a daily thing that doesn’t end.”
Besides the walk and cross country run, there is also an online auction that anyone can bid on. It runs from now until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10.
Participants are encouraged to form packs of up to five people. It costs $50 to register as a pack, regardless of how many members there are.
Walk-ins are also welcome the day of the event. Walk-in tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for kids 6 to 13 years old and $5 for kids under 5 years old. Runner registration is $20 for the 4K and $40 for the 8K.
You can also register online as either a pack or individual.
Live music and food trucks will also be on hand.
Walk for Wolves is Saturday, Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wolf Park in Battle Ground.
