In the municipality of La Estrella, Antioquia, a gray wolf (Canis lupus), which was lost to the Santa Fe Zoo in early January has been found. It is assumed to have been involved in wildlife trafficking.

According to the veterinarian the animal is clinically well, but emphasizes that the wolf is underweight, so it was necessary to establish you a special diet by nutritionists at the park.
 
The gray wolf is an exotic species in South America, as there are no such animals here. It is clear that the wolf entered the country illegally when he was a puppy. It is not yet known what will happen to the animal, as a decision is still pending by the environmental authority.
 
The wolf has shown good behavior with people, so it is assumed to have been living for some time with humans.
 
There are two possible outcomes: that the animal remains in the Santa Fe zoo or that  an exchange with another zoo is made where there is an employee who is familiar with the conservation of wolves.
