NEGAUNEE -- Recent reports of wolves in the City of Negaunee have gone unfounded as of Tuesday night.
Brian Roell, a wolf specialist with the Department of Natural Resources, says there have been two reports. He's collected no evidence though, due to poor snow and ground conditions.
Over a week ago, the first sighting involved a single wolf. The second was a report of six wolves by Cattron's Lumber on U.S. 41 and Fox-Negaunee, last Thursday morning.
Nothing has been found to verify the sightings. Roell says one man reported coyotes going through the garbage in Negaunee.
