‘Keep Michigan Wolves Protected’ filed the suit in the Michigan Court of Claims. The group says the Scientific Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act violates the state’s constitution.

Wolf management has been a hot topic of conversation in the state for a couple of years now. Back in December, a federal judge put gray wolves back on the endangered species list.

A month prior to that, Michigan voters turned down two wolf hunting measures. According to records obtained from the Michigan Court of Claims website, ‘Keep Michigan Wolves Protected’ brought the lawsuit against the State of Michigan, the Department of Natural Resources, and the Natural Resources Commission.
