State to hold public hearing on Turner ranch wolves

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Ted Turner wants Game and Fish to reverse its decision so he can raise Mexican gray wolves on his ranch. The Ladder Ranch, private property owned by Turner, applied for permits earlier this year, but the state denied the ranch’s request.
Game and state officials are now holding a public meeting in Roswell next month to hear the ranch’s appeal.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife recently bypassed the state agency to release Mexican gray wolves in the Gila Wilderness sometime next year.
