Goal: Put an end to the inhumane breeding of wolves for use as household pets
State and national regulators are letting the illegal breeding of captive- born wolves pass through their reach. In Tenino, WA, individuals are breeding captive- born wolves claiming that they are hybrids with at least 2% dog in them. Even though Washington law prohibits the breeding of potentially dangerous animals, including the grey wolf, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says that they do not have the power or resources necessary to put a stop to this heinous act.
The breeders have been selling full- blooded wolf pups to people who are drawn in by the glamour of owning a wolf as a household pet. Wolves are considered wild animals and even if they are domesticated or hybrids, they still are highly unpredictable and dangerous. Many people find it hard to take care of their wolf pups and may attempt to release them into to the wild–an act that could be highly detrimental to the wolf–or may even have them euthanized.
The breeding should have been stopped long ago when one of the breeders’ wolves escaped and attacked a dog in the area. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife finally stepped in and took the animal to a nearby wolf sanctuary that determined it to be 100% wolf, but even though Fish and Wildlife Services had the necessary evidence to take down this breeder, they said that it wasn’t as important as other matters they had to attend to.
By signing the petition below, you will help the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services realize that this is an issue that should not be swept under the mat. These innocent animals should not be the ones taking the fall for the wrongdoings of humans.

Dear Director Thorson and Director Ashe,
Wolf breeders in Tenino, WA are obviously committing a crime that needs to be immediately reprimanded. This type of crime is under the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s jurisdiction and action needs to be taken on your part.
The illegal breeding of full- blooded wolves can pose a threat to customers who are ignorant about the natural instincts of these endangered animals. Along with that, these wolves are genetically wired to be wild animals. They need to socialize with their birth packs and be able to roam for miles and miles daily. Humans can’t contain these animals and the wolves are the ones who suffer from breeders’ mistakes.
It is not fair for these wolves to be born into a life of captivity and live a life that is against their nature. Please enforce the law and put a stop to this inhumane act that is currently depreciating these wolves’ quality of life.
