Dear Wolf Supporter,
You
have another chance to weigh in on the proposal to remove federal
protections for gray wolves across most of the lower 48 states. The
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) has reopened the public comment
period following its receipt of a scientific peer review of the
proposal.
What's striking about the peer review, available here, is that the independent scientist reviewers unanimously agreed that the proposal is not based on the best available science. The proposal relied heavily on one paper by
four FWS scientists in a seldom-used FWS publication. According to the
peer reviewers, this paper is not universally accepted in the scientific
community.
Submit your comment here. Even if you've commented before, you can comment again using this new information. The deadline is March 27.
