Podcast: Dead dogs, wolves, bears and money


Wisconsin is the only state that reimburses people for dogs killed by wolves while hunting, my colleague Bill Lueders reported this week in this story: State pays scofflaws over hound deaths.

When he scoured the data of those who have received payments, Lueders found people convicted for hunting illegally, out-of-state residents and people who have filed multiple claims (see below). So far, a Minnesotan resident has garnered the most, with four payments totaling more than $10,000.
Here’s Lueders talking with me about what he found.
