A very simple, yet pertinent letter regarding Montana’s wolves

Letter: Montana’s wolves

After reading the article "Wolf hunting season opens in Montana" in Sunday’s paper, I’m wondering if the state of Montana is actually trying to do away with all the wolves in the state.

I looked at the numbers and did a little math. At the beginning of this year there were 625 wolves in the state of Montana. So far Montana has sold 6,370 wolf licenses. That means there are 10 hunters for each wolf, not to mention that each hunter can kill up to five wolves each.

That doesn’t seem like very fair odds to me.

You know what, Dru? Those aren't fair odds and that's why we fight.
