It’s been about 20 years since wolves resided at the San Francisco Zoo and Gardens.
“We used to have a North American Wolf, but we’ve now partnered with the federal government to bring the Mexican Gray Wolf back,” Zoo Deputy Director Joe Fitting told KCBS.
The resident wolves will be three brothers, who should be pretty active, according to fitting.
“Through technology we’ll have food releases and sounds that will help stimulate the wolves to do stuff. They won’t just lay there, they’ll be stimulated to get up and move around,” Fitting said.
The wolves will be housed in a pair of old bear grottos, and the exhibit will open on June 8th.
