Gray #wolves visit Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary

 MODJESKA CANYON – Visitors at Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary had a rare chance to interact with live gray wolves on Saturday.

The Wolf Totem Ambassadors held an educational presentation about wolves at Cal State Fullerton’s nonprofit preserve. Biologists discussed topics such as wolf adaptations for survival and wolves’ relationships with other wildlife and recent research projects.

Gray wolves typically have a mixed coat color of gray and brown with long bushy tails. They average 3 to 5 feet in length and weigh 60 to 100 pounds, the National Wildlife Federation website states. They eat large hoofed mammals such as deer, elk, bison and moose as well as beavers, rodents and hares.

In the wild, they live in packs and live eight to 13 years, the website states.
