Goal: Save endangered red wolves from extinction by supporting the continuation of a recovery program under consideration for cancellation
A program that aims to protect and restore the population of endangered red wolves in the United States is currently in danger of being cancelled by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). It is the responsibility of USFWS officials to ensure these beautiful creatures do not come any closer to extinction than they already are.
While USFWS officials have not officially announced any plans to cancel this vital program, they have confirmed it is under consideration and thus in danger of being cancelled. There are currently less than 120 endangered red wolves left in the United States, making the continuation of the Red Wolf Recovery Program extremely important. The goal of the program is to restore healthy, viable populations of red wolves in the wild throughout the United States, and without these efforts, their extinction is imminent.
Animal experts from the Endangered Species Coalition state wolves are “critical members” of the American ecosystem, and their presence in the wild offers benefits to numerous other species as well. These beautiful creatures are at risk of extinction due to cruel efforts by humans to wipe them out in the United States decades ago, and the responsibility to correct the mistakes of the past falls on the USFWS. Urge officials to ensure the vital Red Wolf Recovery Program continues to protect and restore red wolves in the United States.
