Parks officials have released a video showing what bears and wolves
got up to during an overnight highway closure in Banff National Park.
A part of Highway 1A was closed to vehicles, bicycles, and even walkers from 8 p.m. until 8 a.m. MT from March 1 to June 25. The
17-kilometre stretch ran from east of the Johnston Canyon campground to
the parkway's east entrance from the Trans-Canada Highway.
Two cameras were set up before the closure "to be able to see just what goes on when animals have space." Parks Canada officials released a video recently on YouTube showing the results, which they describe as "heartwarming."
