An important message from #HowlingforWolves (Please RT!)

We’re just back from a morning at the Capitol. The tremendous momentum of Wolf Day and the passage of SF 2256 through 2 committees is at risk of stalling behind closed doors without your action now.

There are now a number of options to protect wolves in the form of bills alive in the Minnesota legislature and available as amendments. SF 666 and HF 2680 calling for a 5 year moratorium continue to remain as options for amendments, as is the Wolf Data Bill, SF 2256.  A trapping, baiting and snaring bill was even introduced in the state house last week and can be used to amend a bill on the floor.

While committee chairs Dill (DFL) and Tomassoni (DFL) have been unfavorable toward any wolf legislation that would suspend the wolf hunt, other legislators are open to options that will advance immediate protections for wolves this session.

But the wolf issue is inconvenient for the democratic leadership.  Without a surge of personal communication, especially phone calls, the wolf and Minnesota voters will be ignored. We need to interrupt the hum of business-as-usual with a demand for action. Tell the Minnesota lawmakers and leadership that we will not accept another legislative session without changing laws to protect the wolf.

Call and email now! Use these talking points
to make clear that you expect progress this session.

Outside Minnesota:  Minnesotans: Spread the word. Share. Ring those phones and fill the email boxes!

Keep howling,
