Wisconsin is the only state that reimburses people for
dogs killed by wolves while hunting, my colleague Bill Lueders reported
this week in this story: State pays scofflaws over hound deaths.When he scoured the data of those who have received payments, Lueders found people convicted for hunting illegally, out-of-state residents and people who have filed multiple claims (see below). So far, a Minnesotan resident has garnered the most, with four payments totaling more than $10,000.
Here’s Lueders talking with me about what he found.
