CLARKSTON, WA - The Asotin County Commission is working with the
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to inform residents when
wolves come into the region.
The commission signed a release
agreement Monday morning to be a part of a notification process for when
tagged wolves enter Asotin County. The Sensitive Fish and Wildlife
Information Release Agreement was presented at the multi-county
commission meeting in Pomeroy a few weeks ago.
"Whenever the pack actually gets settled in Asotin County, we'd be able to have that information," said commissioner Jim Fuller.
Fuller
says there are packs in Oregon that come to the Washington border from
time to time. However the county is only notified when a wolf pack
chooses to stay for an extended period of time in the area.
