State kills wolves for preying on domestic livestock

Killing wolves is not the answer

Shame on all involved with the slaughter of an entire wolf pack in Eastern Washington, to satisfy one rich, powerful rancher [“State to kill 8 wolves tied to loss of livestock,” NWSaturday, Sept. 22]. This rancher chose to run cattle on public lands and we the public, have no say in it.
To make a sad event even sadder, the alpha male had been fitted with a tracking collar. He didn’t stand a chance.

I hope all who backed this are proud of themselves. And may I suggest they all read a book titled “Never Cry Wolf.” Guns are the answer to all our problems, or so it seems.
