The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is partnering with the Wyoming Distance Learning Center (www.wyodlc.org) to
broadcast, via the internet, three public wolf regulation meetings in
April. The meetings are designed to provide information and gather
public comments on the department’s draft revised wolf management and
wolf hunting regulations, which are currently open for public comment.
“Understanding
public opinions about wildlife management is a high priority with the
Wyoming Game and Fish Department,” said WGFD Assistant Wildlife Chief
Scott Edberg. “We hope this new technology will help us reach more
people with information about wolves in Wyoming and our proposed
approach to wolf management.”
People
interested in viewing the online meetings can log in to a website and
watch from a computer. They will also be able to submit questions via a
chat feature, though time restrictions may prevent WGFD personnel at the
meeting from answering questions submitted online. There are no
restrictions on the number of people who can participate, and there is
no preregistration required.
The meeting schedule is as follows:
April 9—Pinedale, 7 p.m.
April 10—Jackson, 7 p.m.
April 11—Lander, 6 p.m.
The WGFD will also host an internet-only “webinar” on the draft wolf regulations on April 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at http://bit.ly/wolvesonline .
People
who wish to provide formal public comments about the proposed wolf
regulations must provide those in writing at any of the public meetings
or via mail at the address below. Verbal comments received during the
online meetings will not be entered into the formal record. Public
comments on the proposed wolf regulations will be accepted until 5 p.m.
on April 23, 2012.
Written comments may be submitted to:
